Today, Thursday, was a very lazy day. It was cloudy much of the day, but we did take a bike ride to the beach in the morning, and we went to throw the frisbee in the early afternoon. We also saw Jack and Ty and Scott in the morning when they dropped by, and Fred and I had some lunch over on Las Olas and visited a couple of stores. In the afternoon we had frozen drinks at the dock, and for dinner we went out to visit Ron and Leroy.

At Jack Fontaine's Condo

No, that's not Jack's condo, but when Ty and Scott dropped by in mid-morning, Jack had asked me to come down and help him with his computer, and so the four of us went two doors down from my unit for a visit. Fred took his camera along, and that's where these pictures came from. Jack's unit, 218, has its major window view out to the swimming pool in our courtyard, although his small kitchen window does have the same view of the New River that my living room does. While I worked on the computer problem, Scott and Jack chatted in his living room. Fred took another shot from a different angle, and in this one you can see Jack and Scott in his kitchen; that is Jack's front door beyond Scott.

Meanwhile, I was working on solving Jack's computer problem (none of his problems are ever very difficult or serious; most of them stem from Jack's lack of lots of experience). When Ty came over to sit with me, and Scott walked over to join us, Fred got a picture of the three of us at Jack's desk.

When we were done, Ty and Scott took their leave to go over to their drapery workroom and get some stuff done, but before they left, Fred got a picture of all of us outside my own condo. It was right then that Fred saw the boat in the inset picture at left come down the New River. Here is the large power boat making a turn by the Water Bus stop.

Walking on Las Olas

When Fred and I walked along Las Olas after lunch, we stopped in to the art gallery where I had recently bought the two prints by Alfred Gockel that I have hanging in my living room here. I had been debating getting two more for the bedroom; I like the colors and the themes a lot, and they are supposed to be a good investment. The gallery owner had two pictures identical to the ones I already had, and she put them out near some of the other Gockel prints so I could compare and perhaps choose one that was complementary. In the end I decided to ask Ty if he thought that another Gockel would be overkill for the small apartment. While we were in the store, Fred found an interesting sculpture that he thought was worth a picture.

Evening at the Condo

When we were done throwing the frisbee that afternoon, we returned to the condo to get cleaned up before heading over to Ron Drew's house. As usual, I made frozen drinks, and we took them down to the dock to watch the evening river traffic.

Then it was out to Ron's house for dinner.
