December 25, 2006: Christmas Day

As usual, Ron and Jay were nice enough to invite Fred and I up to their house for New Year's. I think they prefer that to going out, as do we, since there are usually so many drunk jerks out causing problems.

So that is what we did. We got there about seven, and started off the evening, as we often do on Saturdays, playing pool, which is usually moderately serious but sometimes degenerates into clowning around. It's a lot of fun, and we all usually win our share of games. Even Fred. Although his share is very small.

Jay pretty much outdid himself in the munchies department this evening. He always puts on a nice spread, even when we are taking them out for dinner, but this particular evening he must have been on some really rad amphetamines or something. Using the player at left, take a look at this movie of Jay and Ron's New Year's spread and you will see what I mean.

We ate and played pool, then ate and played poker, then shouted huzzahs at midnight, then played more poker. Very laid back and a lot of fun...as usual.
