An Afternoon Gathering at
Barbara Reynolds' House

Barbara Reynolds often accompanies Fred and I to the Symphony, and she comes to many of the birthday parties that we have during the year. She wanted to even up the social card by having our crowd up to her house today for an afternoon meal and to just hang out.

To get to Barbara's house, you have to go up US 75 just to the south of McKinney, and then get off on Texas 121. Then you immediately make a U-turn in front of the new medical center and head back southwest on 121 to Hardin Blvd. Then it's north on Hardin and west on McKinney Ranch Parkway to the entrance to Avalon Hills- Barbara's development. Barbara lives right in the center of the new development on Maidstone Way. I would show you an aerial view of Barbara's house, but the pictures on Google Earth were, apparently, taken before any of the houses in her development were built!

We have been to Barbara's house a couple of times since she moved in, but this wass the first time that some of our other friends will have seen her small back yard after she planted what she wanted and landscaped it.

Barbara had invited most everybody, and all but three of the people she'd invited came. Attending were Barbara, of course, Steve and Mario, Fred and I, Barbara's friends Paul Shamberger and Patricia, Ron Mathis and Jay Enriquez, and Lou. All in all it was a good group. Tom Harris and John Evans had a prior commitment, and they couldn't attend, and Greg was also already committed.

Everyone got there around one on Sunday, and we spent a good deal of time catching up with each other and snacking on chips and hors d'oeuvres. Along about four Barbara served a very good light early dinner. More conversation and dessert followed. The gathering ended about seven.

Fred was the official photographer today, and he took a number of very good pictures. I've selected some of them to include here. If you will click on the thumbnail images below, you can see Barbara and her guests:

Everyone had a good time, and we thank Barbara for an enjoyable afternoon. You can use the links below to continue to the album page for different day.
