May 28 - June 5, 2012:
A Week in Italy: Florence and Rome

After we finished our cruise through the Northern Mediterranean, we docked back in Civitavecchia. From there, we traveled into Rome and then immediately to Florence to spend four nights. On June 1st, we traveled from Florence to Rome, there to spend another four nights before heading home on June 5th. As I have done with other major destinations and cruises, I have organized this time in Italy by giving you an index into the various days of our stay here.

INDEX FOR OUR WEEK IN ITALY

Monday, May 28 From the Noordam to Florence
Our B&B- Casa Rovai
Pont del Vecchio; Piazza Vecchio; An Evening Walk through Florence
Tuesday, May 29 Siena; San Gimignano
Wednesday, May 30 The Uffizi Museum; The Duomo; Exploring Florence
Thursday, May 31 Florence
Friday, June 1 Florence to Rome
Saturday, June 2 Rome
Sunday, June 3 Rome
Monday, June 4 Rome
Tuesday, June 5 Home to Dallas

We took hundreds of pictures and movies during our stays in Florence and Rome, so I have had to find a good way to organize them so that they are not simply overwhelming. I have simply created an album page for each day of our Italian Holiday.

There are only two destinations involved here- Florence and Rome. In the index I have provided not only the city for each day of our stay, but also the major things we saw (or other towns we visited) on each day of our stay. From Florence, we took side trips to Siena and San Gimignano, and from Rome we took a side trip to Tivoli.

Using this index, you can go directly to any particular day, but if you want to experience all that we saw and did here in Italy, you should just begin with the first link to Monday, May 28th, and then go forward from page to page. When you are done looking at the pictures and movies from this stay in Italy, use one of the RETURN links that you will find on each album page to return to this page, from which you will be able to continue forward and backward through the photo album.

We hope you enjoy exploring Rome, Florence, Siena, San Gimignano, and Tivoli with us; they are beautiful, historic places and well worth your time to visit- if only through this photo album. Enjoy!
