November 17 and 19, 2014:
Exploring Cuzco, Peru

The third major event of our South American Odyssey was the time we spent in Cuzco, Peru. We actually spent three days there, although one of them was totally taken up with our all-day excursion to Machu Picchu, Peru.

We'll be getting up early on the 17th to head out once again to the Quito airport. The four of us will then fly from Quito to Lima, Peru, change planes, and fly on to Cuzco in the Andes of Peru east of Lima. Our first day will be spent touring Cuzco, our second at Machu Picchu, and our third once again seeing the sights of the Andes mountain city.

On the map at right, you can orient yourself to the locations of the past couple of days- the Galapagos, Quito, Lima, and Cuzco- and I have marked the two flights we used to get to Cuzco.

This index page will encompass our flights to Cuzco, the two non-contiguous days in that city, and our flight back to Lima- our last stop on this South American Odyssey.

We took so many pictures here in Cuzco that I will again treat our time here as a trip of its own; consequently, it has this- its own index page. This index page will give you entree into the individual days of our stay here in Cuzco.

To use the index, you can click on any particular date to go directly to the page for that date. I have listed the major activities for each day in case there is something specific you want to see. But if you would just like to accompany us on both of the days of our Cuzco stay, as most of you will, just click on the first day in the upper left corner of the index. Once on that first page there will be the usual links to get you to the next or previous page(day).

Whenever you are ready to continue through the photo album (our trip to Machu Picchu will be the next event), please use one of the "RETURN" links that you will find at the top or bottom of each Cuzco page to come back to the top of this page. There, you will find the links that will take you onward or backward through the photo album.

We hope you enjoy coming along with us as we explore Cuzco, and that the pages I've created here will give you some idea of what this charming high mountain city is really like.
