Prudence and Nancy have come up to Fort Worth for one of their family investment meetings, and the pair have very graciously invited Fred and I to come over to Fort Worth and have dinner with them at the Worthington Hotel- where they always stay when they come up to the city from San Antonio.

Getting to the Worthington

Usually, when we drive over to Fort Worth, it's to go to the Museum District, in which case it's quicker to go over via I-30. But we take a different route when we go downtown, where the Worthington is located.

We head south on Inwood to Stemmons Freeway, and then head west to pick up Texas 183 west. This takes us all the way past Hurst-Euless-Bedford to Texas 121 southwest into downtown Fort Worth.

Texas 121 dumps us onto Belknap Street which takes us right by the Fort Worth Courthouse, and the Worthington is just a few blocks south.

We usually find a parking space just a block from the Worthington. We could valet park, but the Worthington is undergoing major renovations, and last time we were here the valet parking was a zoo. Walking over to the hotel, we crossed Main Street, and here I stopped to take two pictures.

Dinner at the Worthington

We met Prudence and Nancy, and also Dan and Vicki Pier, longtime friends of Prudence and Nancy, in the lobby of the Worthington, where we chatted and had a drink before walking through the bar area to the restaurant. One feature of the lobby bar is a huge hanging display of longhorns, To get to the restaurant, one walks past the bar and then actually around part of the restaurant kitchen.

We were happy to see Dan and Vicki again, and of course we always enjoy seeing Prudence and her sister. We had a very nice dinner, and then Fred and I escorted the girls back to their room- stopping to take the picture below, right.
