December 8-12, 2020: A Trip to San Antonio and Leander, TX |

Return to the Index for 2020 |
Well, we have come to the end of the year, and what a year it has been. We are used to at least one trip each year to some amazing place, or perhaps a cruise to a number of them. But this year of Covid-19 has thrown all that out the window. From our return from Florida in mid-March, right through the end of the year, we've basically stayed home, with only another trip to Florida and a couple of trips to San Antonio to break up the monotony. But that's what a mismanaged pandemic has done to all of us, and as the year draws to a close we can only hope that next year, with its promise of a vaccine, will be better.
The last major "event" of 2020 was Christmas, which Fred and spent quietly at home, with only our close friends Justin and Gary with us late in the day to share Christmas dinner. Fred spent Christmas Eve in Cleburne with his family, and while he took lots of pictures there, they don't really belong in this album.

I didn't really have to get it in the oven very early, so we did our opening of gifts. We took some interesting candid pictures during this process, and I've included some of them in the slideshow at left.
To view the slideshow, just click on the image at left and I will open the slideshow in a new window. In the slideshow, you can use the little arrows in the lower corners of each image to move from one to the next, and the index numbers in the upper left of each image will tell you where you are in the series. When you are finished looking at the pictures, just close the popup window.
Fred and I just futzed around for most of the rest of the day, going out for a walk and doing routine things until Justin and Gary arrived about 5:30 bearing gifts. It is always a pleasure to have the guys over for a meal; they always have lots of stories to tell, many of which involve the various dog shows that Gary and Justin go to with their championship dogs. (Justin also brought a frozen casserole for us to put in the freezer and enjoy sometime when we don't feel like cooking.) Both Fred and I took a few pictures during the meal, and these are below:

Our Christmas Dinner with Justin and Gary was the last event of the year- not counting the first couple of days of our trip to Florida, but since most of that trip was in January, 2021, that will be the first event for next year.
This has been a sparse year for picture-taking, for obvious reasons. Maybe next year will be better. At least the orange idiot won't be around to screw things up.
