Our Fall Trip to Fort Lauderdale - Part 2

 

We returned from Ecuador to Fort Lauderdale early in the morning on October 22, having flown down there on JetBlue from Fort Lauderdale. This will probably be the last time we get Ecuador this way, as JetBlue and American have ended their reciprocal relationship. Our next trip down will be from Dallas to Ecuador through Miami.

We didn't take very many pictures during this part of our stay in Fort Lauderdale, so this will be a short page.

There were only two good pictures of boat traffic on the New River this time:

We had another visitor this trip, too. Our cat sitter, Lynne Richardson, had come to Miami to visit her good friend Osama, and she took the Brightline up to Fort Lauderdale to have lunch with her other bestie, Ron Drew. The four of us went to a restaurant right beside the Intracoastal Waterway, just north of Oakland Park Blvd.

We got a nice table right by the water in the restaurant, which was already decorated for Halloween. Here are the four best pictures we took:

The Trip Home

We left Fort Lauderdale on the 2nd of November, after being gone for seven weeks. The trip itself was uneventful and, as usual, we were heading towards the Florida State Line about 5PM. At this time of year, that's sunset, and we were treated to a very nice one just past Pensacola.

As usual, we stayed in Lafayette for the night (although the La Quinta was full so we stayed across the street at a nice Howard Johnson's) and were home the next afternoon. As always, it will be great when we finally get transporter technology, but for now driving will have to do.
