Christmas

Well, another year is coming to a close, and after a great Thanksgiving Dinner a month ago, another Christmas has rolled around. But this one is not without its sadness. Our good friend, Lowery Evans, died on December 13th in Brandon, Florida, after a lengthy illness. I was able to be there to help Ron Drew through things, and I have brought their cat, Countess, back to live with me, for the place that Ron has moved to in downtown Tampa doesn't allow pets.

Ron has come back to Dallas this Christmas to visit his brother and head up to Lawton to visit his mother. We were happy to have him here with us on Christmas Day, but sad that his other half wouldn't grace our gatherings anymore.

I did my usual Christmas ham, and having good friends, as well as my mom and Jeffie around made it a special day.

So the year ended- the ninth year that Fred and I have spent together. There were departures: Prudence and Ron moved to San Antonio to open a bed & breakfast. There were joinings: Nancy and Karl were married in July. And there was sadness: we said farewell to Lowery just two weeks ago. Eventful, yes, but that's life for you.
