My Birthday and Thanksgiving

My Birthday Party

Fred has helped me put a birthday party together- my 59th. And we have invited the usual crew over and prepared the usual menu (lasagna and Swedish meatballs, plus vegetables, snacks and a birthday cake). Really, the parties we all have are rather less to celebrate birthdays than just a chance to get everybody together.

For this birthday party, we had Lynne and Barbara, Ron and Jay, Larry French, Brad, Lou, and of course Fred and I, although everyone didn't make it into one of the candid pictures that were taken. Clicking on the thumbnails below will let you view the full-size pictures, and I hope you'll take a look at them:

Towards the end of the evening, it was time for cake and ice cream. Before the "cutting of the cake," Fred took a couple of pictures- one of just me and the cake and one with the whole group.

Finally (and I caution you that this one is not for the squeamish), he made a movie of the group singing Happy Birthday; you can watch this movie with the player at right.

The birthday party was a lot of fun; I always enjoy them even if they do get formulaic.

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving was a quiet affair this year. Almost everyone was off doing something, but I wanted to cook a turkey anyway. So it was Fred, Larry and Denny who shared the meal. As usual, we had a huge turkey and everything to go with it. This year, both Fred and I forgot to record the event with a picture or two, so I don't have any to show you.

However, Fred and I did go to visit Mom at her own Thanksgiving Day dinner at the Bentley Manor, and I DID remember to take some pictures there. I have placed them on her special album page. If you would like to take a look at those pictures, just use the link below. It will open my mother's album page in a new browser window and position you at today's pictures. If the window that opens is too small to conveniently display the contents, you may expand it to full-screen by clicking the "Maximize" button in the upper right corner of the new browser window (see illustration below). While you are on that page, you may, of course, scroll up or down to look at more of the pictures and movies that I took of my mother this year. When you are ready to return to this page, just click the "Close Window" button in the upper right corner of the new browser window (see illustration below):

You can use the links below to continue to another photo album page.
