Our Return to the Symphony

This evening is a milestone for us- and for the Dallas Symphony. The Spring portion of the 2019-2020 Season had to be cancelled due to the outbreak of Covid-19, and the cancellation continued through the entire 2020-2021 Season as well.

But this Fall, the Symphony is re-opening with social distancing, mask requirements, and strict entry requirements (such has having your vaccination card available). But we are happy to return, even though patrons might only attend a limited number of performances due to the requirement of leaving seats vacant to implement social distancing.

Pictures aren't usually allowed during performances, but I wanted to record our return this evening with some photographs before the performance, during intermission, and at the conclusion of the performance.

Here are the pictures I took this evening to record our return to Symphony attendance:

We usually park a ways away from the Myerson, and get to see some of the new buildings built near it as we walk over.

At intermission it is our habit to walk out of the hall itself and up onto the "bridge" over the lobby just to watch the people.

The Symphony had something unusual waiting for returning patrons in the main lobby:

There was a projector up on the bridge, so we did a selfie with the wall projection in the background:

Just as the performance ended, I took three separate pictures in the Hall and then stitched them together into the panoramic view below:

We enjoyed being back at the Symphony, and even though we'll only get to go to four concerts rather than eight this season, it is nice to have something of a return to normalcy.
