We were just here in San Antonio for the Fourth of July, but we are back again this time to help Prudence celebrate her birthday.

You have probably seen an album page where we visit San Antonio, but in case you haven't, I want to show you the route to San Antonio from Dallas and where Prudence and Ron are located.

On the left-hand map below, you can see the normal route from Dallas down to San Antonio. Not much explanation is necessary; sometimes we take the bypass around Austin, but most times we don't, and the trip to the San Pedro exit in San Antonio is usually four hours plus.

We head north on San Pedro Avenue a couple of miles and then either hang a left on Ashby and a right on Breeden or just a left on French to get to the Ruckmans' house on the northeast corner of Breeden and French.

In case you have not seen them, I have put below first an aerial view of the Ruckmans' house (it is the house on the corner and the garage/apartment building north of it where Guy used to live) and a front view of the house (taken in 2010).

We celebrated Prudence's birthday with a dinner at Perry's Steakhouse, and cake back at her house. Fred got a nice flower arrangement for her and so did Nancy. We spent time at the gallery with her, and Fred came home with a new artwork, shown below hanging in my entry hallway:

The other thing we did was to go to a fundraiser for an equine therapy farm that is located near San Antonio. One of Prudence's artists, Ann Gaynor, had bought a table for the six of us and two of her own friends.

There was a silent auction (where I picked up an old map of Texas etched into stretched leather, which I gave to Fred), dinner, a chance to meet some of the horses (Nancy particularly liked that), a country band, and dancing. I took a dozen or so candid pictures and have put them into a slideshow you can look through.
