A Sea Day

Today, the Oosterdam will be cruising northwest along the coast of Central America, having left Costa Rica last night and arriving in Guatemala tomorrow morning. Here's the route:

We didn't do much at all today outside our normal "sea day" routine. We had breakfast with the guys, played bridge before lunch and wandered the decks after lunch. Fred and I were at the stern when we heard about the dolphins.

As it happened, the ship was either followed by or passed a school of dolphins off our port side. I've seen them jump near a ship or boat before, but not so many of them or for such a long time. Both Fred and I took movies.

We went to the fitness center and had dinner with the guys in the Italian Restaurant. Then we went to the show featuring Dolores Park.

Here's what the Daily Program had to say about Dolores Park:

"Tonight we present singing sensation Dolores Park. She is not only beautiful inside and out, but her incredible voice has left her audiences standing all across the world! A show not to be missed!"

Well, if your taste runs to brassy lounge singers, Dolores Park is right up your alley. She was entertaining, but not very memorable. None of the few pictures that I took of her turned out well enough to include here.

Tomorrow we dock in Puerto Quetzal, Guatemala.
