A Sea Day

Today will be a sea day as we sail towards the Atlantic end of the Panama Canal.

Today was another day to do pretty much nothing- except for our routines. What were they? Well, the day began with breakfast with Bud, Chet, Greg and Paul at our usual table near the Lido Pool. We adjourned the breakfast about nine-thirty, and then Greg, Paul, Chet, Fred and I reconvened in the Hudson Room for some bridge. We broke at about one to go have some lunch.

At three, Fred and I joined Greg and his trivia team in the Crow's Nest to watch them come in second for the day in the cruise-long cumulative contest. Fred and I walked around the ship in the afternoon, and I worked on getting pictures organized on the laptop. At about five we headed for the Fitness Center where we watched "Mama Mia!" on one of the TV screens while we were getting our workout.

Fred and I went to see part of the show by Bob Brizendine- a comedian and sleight-of-hand artist. We were out a little before eight when we joined the rest of the guys in the Vista Dining Room for dinner. After dinner, we caught a showing of "G.I. JOE and the Rise of Cobra" in the screening room. The ship continues to have the aspect ratio on its projection system set wrong, making everyone look fat. (I did learn something, though. I thought G.I. Joe was the action figure brought to the screen. In fact, GIJOE is an acronym, and it stands for "Global Integrated Joint Operations Entity," so I guess it has relatively little to do with the action figure after all.)

There wasn't much to see from the ship during the day, as it was extremely cloudy. I hoped that our transit of the canal would be in good weather.
